Selections typically include books on spirituality, witness, sociology, fiction, science, and books related to or authored by the Pope. Advance notice of the next selection is included in the bulletin. If a particular book interests you, feel free to join us! Our next meeting will be April 9th to discuss A Civilization of Love : What Every Catholic Can Do to Transform the World by Carl Anderson, Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Pope Benedict XVI recommends it. Watch the bulletin for more info!
  • NEW PRIEST - We've been blessed to have a new Parochial Vicar assigned to us who is arriving later this month instead of this summer as originally planned! Fr. William Brailsford will be starting here Wednesday, January 27. He comes to us from St. Ann's in Tenleytown. Since he spent the summer of 2002 as a seminarian here at SJN, he knows a little about us as we know a little about him. We all look forward to getting to know more about each other! Let's give him a warm welcome and be sure to introduce yourself.
  • YEAR OF THE PRIEST - The JOHN PAUL THE GREAT VOCATIONS SOCIETY of SJN is a very active ministry in our parish especially in this year of the priest. Check out their table in the lobby to find information on the Vocations Chalice Program (see below). Take a photo of the 67 current seminarians of the Archdiocese and pray for them. You can also go to Pray for our Diocesan Priests. This link will be updated as we receive new information. (The society generally meets monthly on a Sunday evening for a potluck dinner with the whole family, followed by a meeting -- babysitting provided. Please join us!).

  • YOU'VE GOT MAIL FROM SJN PARISH - Occasionally we send emails to the whole parish about special events. With the permission of the families involved, we also send notices when parishioners pass away along with information regarding the funeral arrangements. This will allow all of us to remember the deceased in our prayers and to know when the funeral Mass is being held. If you want to be sure that we have your email address, please send us a note at sjnp@saintjohnneumann.org. Alternately, if you don't want to receive these notices, please contact us at the same address.
  • SHARE THE WORD - The magazine/pamphlet rack in the lobby would welcome some good used Catholic magazines. Instead of discarding them, offer your gently used magazines to your fellow parishioners by placing them in the far right set of holders. Thank you.
